Kaiserstrasse is the number one shopping street in Karlsruhe. The two-kilometre-long shopping street offers not only a particularly wide selection of shops offering fashion, stationery, interior design items, jewellery and cosmetics, it is also the city’s major artery. It connects the districts city center east and city center west and is frequented by locals and tourists alike. And not only that! Karlsruhe’s major shopping street also serves as a meeting point for all of the Karlsruhe locals. They make plans to meet and visit restaurants and cafés or to go drinking at bars – or even just to go shopping!

The semi-circular section of road in front of the square at Karlsruhe Palace is known as the “Zirkel” in the fan-shaped city. Famous for its numerous art galleries and historic political buildings, the Zirkel attracts more than just art lovers.

On Erbprinzenstraße, time moves very differently – here, people take a lot of time for quality of life and enjoyment. The well-known side street is a treat for all visitors in need of a break from the daily grind. In the numerous street cafés and atmospheric shops, you can relax and shop in peace.

Herrenstraße spans from the southern edge of the Karlsruhe Palace to Karlstor on Karlstraße. You can find an A–Z of shops among cultural heritage sites and court buildings, as well as the Federal Court of Justice. You can find everything from A-line skirts to zebra-print couch cushions at the shops along Herrenstraße, as well as everything a well-organised jewellery box, household or wardrobe could ever need.

Lammstraße runs parallel to Ritterstrasse and right past the city’s largest shopping centre, Ettlinger Tor. Named after the former guesthouse “Zum Lamm”, the vibrant street still bears its historical name to this day. A wide range of shops, mainly for the little ones, serve to attract many locals and tourists.
